Berrien Primary School’s Pre-K Registration 2023-2024

Enrollment Requirements
You may complete the packet on-site or return the packet no later than February 15, 2023 to the Berrien Board of Education. Please do not return the packet to Berrien Primary School. The Pre-K Program is open to children who will be four (4) years of age on or before September 1, 2023. Children who will be five (5) years of age on or before September 1, 2023 will register for kindergarten at a later date. Court documented guardianship papers must be presented if the enrolling adult is not the legal custodial parent. Power of attorney is not accepted.
Enrollment Selection Process
Pre-K admission is based on a Lottery drawing. It is not based on a first-come, first-serve basis. You must register your child at the Berrien County Board of Education to be eligible for the lottery drawing. The Pre-K Lottery Registration will end on February 15, 2023 at 3:30. There will be no exceptions to this date and time. Letters notifying parents of the lottery results will be mailed in March. A waiting list will be established for students not selected in the lottery. Parents may continue to register their students after February 15 to be added to the waiting list. The Bright From the Start grant currently funds the Berrien Board of Education for six classes of 22 students.
Items Needed for Registration Process
- Completion of Bright From the Start’s Pre-K Registration Form
- Certified Copy of Child’s Birth Certificate-must contain a state file number
- Completion of Georgia’s Pre-K Program Student Social Security Information Form or a Copy of Child’s Social Security Card
- Completion of Bright From the Start’s General Release Form
- Current and Complete Dept. of Human Resources Immunization Certificate (DHR Form 3231) or an appointment card
- Complete Certificate of Hearing, Vision, Dental, and Nutrition Screening (DHR Form 3300) or an appointment card
- Proof of Residence (lease/rental agreement, electric, water, or gas bill) - street address must be indicated on the agreement or bill
- Completion of Berrien Board of Education’s Enrollment Packet
- Roster Information Form
