Superintendent

Dr. Heath Heron

It's an honor to introduce myself as the Superintendent of Berrien County Schools. I'm Dr. Heath Heron and I'm thrilled to join the Berrien County School System.

Our primary focus will be ensuring a safe and secure environment for all our students, faculty, and staff. We have diligently worked this summer to maintain and enhance the security measures in place, fostering a space where everyone feels protected and can thrive.

Equally important is our commitment to providing a rigorous curriculum that challenges and inspires every student to earn high levels of achievement and growth. We will strive to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and critical thinking abilities necessary for future success, whether they pursue higher education, vocational training, or enter the workforce.

As we look forward to the new school year, we want to encourage our families to start preparing students for a successful return to routine. Establishing a consistent reading routine of at least thirty minutes a day can help keep their minds sharp and engaged, while a regular bedtime routine will ensure they are well-rested and ready to learn each day. These small steps at home can make a big difference in their transition back to school. Also, please find our school calendar on the website and social media so that time away from school is minimized and students are in school all day, every day.

Our website includes the organizational structure for the school system and the chain of command in the event a student, parent, or stakeholder has a compliment or concern they would like addressed. This structure is in place to ensure concerns are resolved quickly and professionally.

I am eager to collaborate with our dedicated and passionate educators, parents, and community members to uphold our district's proud traditions and explore new opportunities for growth and excellence. I believe that by working together we can achieve remarkable outcomes for our students and we can “be” the difference!

Respectfully,

Heath Heron, Ed.D
